Sean Michael Casey teaches and performs Double Bass throughout the North Texas area. With a Bachelor’s in Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and a Masters of Music from Arizona State University, Sean studied with many of the world’s top bass performers and pedagogues, including Max Dimoff, Jeff Bradetich, and Catalin Rotaru. Performing with numerous ensembles, Sean has a variety of experiences performing as a member of the CIM/Case Baroque Orchestra, all the way to the other end of the spectrum as a member of the Arizona Contemporary Music Ensemble, including premiering new works by local composers.
Currently, Sean performs as a member of the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra, the Garland Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Arlington, the Odysseus Chamber Orchestra, and the Allen Philharmonic; additionally, he substitutes regularly with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, the Irving Symphony, and the San Angelo Symphony. Sean maintains a large private studio in Allen, TX, producing numerous TMEA All-Region and All-State students, and is an adjunct professor of Double Bass at Brookhaven College in Addison, in addition to his work at the Suzuki Music Institute of Dallas.
