Our aim in our studios is to provide the best possible environment for you and your child.
If a student misses or cancels a lesson, the teacher is NOT required to make up the lesson.
When a student knows in advance that he or she will not be able to make his or her lesson, the student may trade lessons with another student, providing that the teacher is made aware of the trade.
School Closure (Weather/Snow or Ice related)
SMID follows RISD, PISD and DISD decisions regarding weather related closings. Our teachers are afforded one missed lesson per student per year under these weather related school closings. Teachers are not obligated to make up these lessons.
If a teacher cancels or misses a lesson for any reason other than weather-related closings, the teacher is required to make up the lesson.
Late arrival or “no show” means you have forfeited that time. To benefit fully from your allotted time, please arrive early, unpack and be ready to begin. This also applies to group and orchestra.
Please remember that this lesson time has been exclusively secured specifically for only your child. In turn, other times have been secured exclusively for other students. Asking for make-ups leads to exhaustion for the teachers and organizational difficulties for the studio.
The home page of the website (www.suzukimusicdallas.org) will announce school closings for weather and other unusual circumstance. If in doubt about wheather or not the school will be closed, consult the website

REGISTRATION & TUITION POLICIES
Lessons may commence only after registration has been turned into the business office and payment received by the school.
Payments that are more than sixty (60) days late will result in suspension of lessons until the balance is current.
Extra Lessons are additional lessons that you schedule with your Private Lessons teacher – or another private lessons teacher (and your private lessons teacher has been informed about).
Coaching Lessons are special lessons that are scheduled to prepare a student for an upcoming competition or performance.
Practice lessons are regularly scheduled weekly lessons for students who have already registered for two full hours per week with their primary Private lessons teacher and need extra practice at the school under the guidance of a teacher when progress is rapid.
