Kate Jones teaches at Suzuki Music Institute of Dallas as well as at Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD. Before living in Texas she taught private lessons at several locations in the Cleveland area such as the Cleveland Music Settlement and Cleveland Institute of Music SATO program.
In past summers she participated in FAVA France and Music School Festival Orchestra at Chautauqua Institution. She has been a clinician at the the SAA Conference and completed her Bass Book 5 training. She has taught Suzuki Bass at such festivals as the University of Wisconsin—Stevens Point Suzuki Institute, Ozark Mini Bass Project, Viva el Bajo, and the North Texas Suzuki Spring Festival. In addition to her teacher training with Virginia Dixon, she has also worked with Suzuki Bass teachers Nicole Castleberry and Tracy Rowell.
Jones has recently completed her Doctorate at the University of North Texas and she performs regularly in several regional orchestras. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in performance from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Master’s degree from Cleveland Institute of Music and has studied with such bassists as Francois Rabbath, Earl Gately, Judith Hanna, Jeff Bradetich, Max Dimoff, Charles Carleton, Scott Dixon, and Dalibor Tkadlcik.
